Superbowl

So here we are again, 364 more days till the next Superbowl. I am very excited for the fact that this now means 60 minutes on Sunday nights will no longer be shown at 9pm and CBS lineup pushed later and later... it will finally be back to its regulared scheduled program of 7pm EST until the next season starts.

As I sat in my living room which listening to the chomping of nachos, cheese and crackers I thought about how much do people really know about football. I took myself for example. I know there is always a rivalry between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots which is probably because CT is stuck inbetween the two teams and either you don't give a damn or your heart is devoted to one of them. Then I thought, well I know a little bit more, my brother played football and I did watch a couple games while I was "playing field hockey" from the bench in HS. I knew the training for the sport was horrible, i'd seen plenty HS kids vommiting behind the bleachers after their coaches treated them roughly. Then I came to the realization that my no matter what, my favorite part of February is the Superbowl. You get to eat the food you love without hesitating and you don't have to be reminded of how single you are either. Everyone is either there for the food, commercials and/or halftime show. If you truely are a football fan then your there watching for your team. Theres really no dread or stigma around the superbowl. It wasn't until after the Superbowl where I learned that every year the Greenbay Packers had won the stock market rose 13%. Now I thought that was awesome until the reporter said, if the Steelers had won we'd be up 28%. I guess if I knew this ahead of time I would have cheered for a team.

Now lets get on to the commercials!
Details people details!
This is the best part of the whole evening, I loved the beaver commercial with Bridgestone tires. I also gave a huge thumbs up to the Dorito's licking commercial, it was so insanely gross but so hilarious at the same time. Typically I would loved the Darth Vador commercial (Volkswagon) but because the media (but no one in my office) has put this commercial as #1, I just am leaning far away from it. It was undoubtly cute and heartwarming but to over rated right now. Another commercial that I found quite interesting to be one of the office favorites is the Audi commercial, it was brilliantly creatively made! But what it lacked by just the BAM of it all. I wish they showed an Audi full throttle instead of a chaeffer waiting for the guy outside the prison... Although, this does prove the reliability of Audi (always there for you in any circumstance, will never let you down). Who doesn't want that reliabiliy? heck these days, you can't even rely on your own spouse. As for Best Buy... I don't understand how so many people didn't understand it. Ozzy is the old product.... Justin is the new product... Bring your out dated products to Best Buy and we will trade it in for something new. Egh whatever... Just reminds me again on how uneducated Americans are... unfortunately.

As for the halftime show. You either loved it or hated it. I loved it! Fergie was awesome and the Black Eyed Peas kicked it great. I felt as if the crowd was sooo loud and over cheering that the technical group wasn't prepared and didn't have the audio sync as best as they could have. I loved how they sang their hits and Usher was amazing. Always dancing and exciting the crowd. I have to admit I am bias to both of them. I met the Black Eyed Peas when I was in High School and they were not known at all. I also went to several Usher concerts and wished to be the one on stage with him. So needless to say, I'm bias. Opps!

Oh and ps. Christina did a fantastic job, who cares really if she messed up the lyrics, i bet more than half America didn't even realize it. I know the crowd I was with just knew "something is off" ... She did great!

Till next time.
PEACE!
